I have great difficulties with that, after having them actively try to kill two of my ancestors, losing some relatives at Culloden Moor, and being born to boot in a country that still suffers under their boot.

"Relatives"?

How many generations ago?

The Black and Tans came for my grand-dad one night, and amongst other things they did to terrorise his family they stuck the muzzle of one of their rifles into my great gradmother's mouth as she lay on her death bed. (Near Moivea).

This was shortly after their colleagues shot a young mother as she at at her doorstep breastfeeding her baby. (Near Gort).

...and you remember Culloden?

Yup, you can you remember far too much of "your" history for your own good. Just ask people in the Balkans or the Middle East.

That branch of the family came to Normandy with Rollo and was in the crusades, we entertain long memories.

Well, if they hadn't been so busy killing each other for the last few hundred years, there might be a lot more.

We're already quite the large family just with the descent from my great grandda, how would I know how many brothers and sisters HIS ancestors had and what they became?

Enough of this splitting business, time for something in the other direction.

Time for Australia to have a union with the kiwis...

The Greater Australian Empire has to start somewhere...

And at least we'll dominate world rugby...

That may be all true, but the English kept Hitler from eating your ancestors, and we listened to Billy fuckin Connolly, and laughed politely.
Surely that counts for something?

Mind you, you did give us Absolutely, and Still Game, so I can forgive the Billy Connolly bit.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
