NICE shot. Not only are the ommatidia visible, but the ocelli too. Love the body pattern on this species.

I was expecting disappointment, but when I opened the file, the details were a pleasant surprise, especially the ocelli and the intricate dimpled patterns on the cuticle.Calilasseia wrote:NICE shot. Thanks, XC. It was mostly luck, of course. Very, very shallow depth of field, and my eyesight isn't up to that challenge.

I had to shoot a good few shots of Palomena prasina before hitting upon a close up that really did this insect justice. Which I think I've already posted here some time ago ...
