Re: iPhone 5
Ok, here's my question: should I upgrade to the 5? I have a 16 GB 4 (not 4S). Out of warranty. Working well, just now starting to show signs of slowing down.
Upgrade prices I'm eligible for:
iPhone 5 16GB: $199
iPhone 5 32 GB: $299
iPhone 5 64 GB: $399
Money is an issue; I don't have a lot of dollars these days.
(I fully expect some people here to tell me to ditch Apple entirely. Nope; gonna stay with them.)

I just wanted to show my support for you in your decision to not switch from Apple. I was a Droid owner while hubby had an iPhone 4S, and I'll be upgrading to the 5 asap!

You can't add memory to the iPhone, so I would suggest looking at how much memory you are using on your current phone and judge from that.orpheus wrote:Ok, here's my question: should I upgrade to the 5? Re: iPhone 5
Here's the deal: since my current phone is working pretty well, I can get some resale value for it. Probably around $150. But the longer I wait, the lower that price will drop. And the more my phone will wear (battery life, possible damage). So in a funny way, now may be a good time to upgrade. I'm really undecided.

Yes, but the question really is should I upgrade now at all? I can see both sides and am still undecided.Ayaan wrote:You can't add memory to the iPhone, so I would suggest looking at how much memory you are using on your current phone and judge from that.orpheus wrote:Ok, here's my question: should I upgrade to the 5? I saw an ad for it in the telstra shop i want one.
I'd get the biggest capacity you can afford you dont want to be stuck with a slow arse phone you always need more than you can fill.

Not always. Hubby has the smallest 4S and it's no where near full. My Droid has lots of space left also, without using the card.redunderthebed wrote:I saw an ad for it in the telstra shop i want one.I'd get the biggest capacity you can afford you dont want to be stuck with a slow arse phone you always need more than you can fill.

That will be the hidden Apple code that makes previous model iPhones start to play up just as the new one comes out....PsychoSerenity wrote:Slowing down? Re: iPhone 5
I had a sales call the other day. Normally I just hang up as quickly as possible but this one sounded good. The deal was from a reseller of my phone provider contracts. The deal was if I kept my current phone (Iphone4, which I am still very happy with) I would get an improved deal with more phone time, data etc for£10 a month less plus £100 back in the form of a cheque! It seemed like too good a deal to be for real so I phoned my provider to check it was on the level - which it is.
So many people want to upgrade their phones as soon as possible it seems,. but many people are perfectly happy with the Iphone 4 - I certainly am, that they spotted this as an opportunity.

I think there's a mobile telephone somewhere in the house, I think it's one of those you can send "text messages" on, if you know how to.
