The whole thing is a charade which evinces the deep underlying resentment against certain Corrupt Western Powers which have had undue influence in their oppression for the last 75 years or more. Everyone remembers the uprisings in Tunisia Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria and Libya. With the exception of Syria (I think) all of these have been caused by oppressive regimes that have been supported by Western powers who make the claim they are trying to spread freedom peace and democracy while invading countries and setting up puppet governments.

There is also an undue influence in these protests which is where it is going to turn in on itself I feel. Between the moderates who are looking towards secular democracies and the old sheep-fuckers who want the Caliphates. It seems like an attempt at a reconstruction and reformation at the same time.

Radical Islam is awesome!

Keeping the people more pissed off about some obscure blasphemer than about how their own clergy keep them from forming a competitive society is a great way to make sure that the Arab World sinks back into insignificance once the oil runs out. It also means there will always be terrorism, which is not more of a risk in the west than driving on the highway, but will always provide a pretext for war.
