Been at the guiness again?
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

It's tardigrades. The weird little fuckers are everywhere.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Lucas was right. It's that midochlorian bollox he came up with for Shit Wars The Phantom Story.

While that's certainly fascinating, I'd suggest the most important scientific frontier currently is exploring how the human brain works, as well as brains in general.

So basically, this guy is saying that there's genetic evidence pointing to the fact that we haven't discovered all the microbes that exist. This is supposed to be surprising?

I think he's also saying that some of the signatures they leave behind are very different from the domains of life we currently know about.
