When technological advantages are neutralised, and the other side control hearts, minds, and intelligence, marines and seals are as defeatable as any other group of soldiers. They will not be afraid, and will be prepared. It is almost certainly what they want.

Then I say we let them have it...from a drone circling at 25,000 feet, an F22 Joint Strike Fighter, an artillery barrage from our ships offshore, from machine guns and grenades in the hands of Marines, and from the silenced MP5's and pistols of our SEALS in the night as they sleep. I'm happy to send them directly to Allah and Paradise, where 72 virgins await them...all of them looking like Andrea Dworkin and having eternal PMS.

This is the inevitable consequence of declaring a "War on Terror". There is no possible end to it, and it opens up multiple fronts and many new potential alliances for your enemies. Permanent war footing is useful for control at home, and if you want to extinguish liberties, but the consequences can run out of your control easily.
