Re: US ambassador 'killed in Libya'
He's the new Gold Standard for international leaders! He's fixed the economy (MILLIONS of new jobs!), stopped global warming, made the Arab World love us again, and has managed to merge the U.S. and Russian navies! Whooda thunk it?
I think we should just do away with all this silly, wasteful election nonsense and acclaim him Dear Leader for Life!

Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

What exactly has Obama done wrong in handling the embassy crisis? Be specific.

Failed to enact and build adequate security measures for our consulates, which his administration has been warned about for a couple of years.Gerald McGrew wrote:What exactly has Obama done wrong in handling the embassy crisis? Be specific.
Reacted with a tepid response to what amounts to a grievous act of war. Our Ambassador, the voice of the President of the United States in that country, was brutally murdered. Obama's response is more empty, milquetoast rhetoric.
A riot like this, assaulting our embassy, on September 11, over a film? Bollocks. This was pre-planned, and that much is patently obvious.

Re: US ambassador 'killed in Libya'
I think all US embassy's should have an emergency self-destruct system. In the event that an embassy is attacked or over run and it's workers killed in a manner such as this the embassy should be remotely detonated killing all the culprits and those supporting it in the surrounding area. That will prevent mindless murder and if it doesn't it will deal with the cunts responsible.

No Marine guards at consular offices, for one thing.
I'll give him time, though. After all, three and a half years of "talking" to the Islamic Freedom Fighters apparently wasn't enough to make them all cuddly and loving again. Like they were before, back in the days of that Great Democratic Statesman and International Moral Arbiter Jimmy "Nukkaler" Carter.

Ah, so anything short of an invasion is "milquetoast"? If it's an act of war, we have to go to war, right? So who do we invade?Reacted with a tepid response to what amounts to a grievous act of war. Obama says there is absolutely no justification for the incident and the perpetrators will be brought to justice. A Marine anti-terrorism unit already been dispatched.
Ah, but what the fuck. Let's invade another Muslim country!!

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
