I have never never been able to get my head around the US' loopy gun culture, so never argue with an American gun enthusiast; it's like trying to communicate with a person from Alpha Centauri.

When I saw Gallstones' photo, I found myself repulsed. Posting something like that is a reflection of a kind of psychological sickness. What the hell is it supposed to demonstrate apart from the poster's own weird obsession?

Hey, Gallstones, I can't PM you to answer your question, but the answer is a firm and unequivocal "yes." The BATFE published a specific opinion letter, which is available online, which says that anyone who is a user of illegal drugs, including pot, whether or not they have state permission under medical marijuana laws, is PROHIBITED from owning firearms or ammunition. Since pot is still illegal under federal law, which trumps state medical pot laws, you risk five years in jail and a $250,000 fine for possessing a firearm while using medical marijuana. It's unclear whether you're still disabled from owning a firearm if you no longer use any illegal drugs, you'd have to ask the BATFE.

Yeah, except that is more a suicide weapon.

My own version of self-immolation involves Taylors Shiraz. I never count how many bottles I go through, but I am sure that I am supporting the entire Australian wine industry.
