In a single word, it's called investment. Try starting a business while telling yourself you're going to maximize revenue by having minimal overhead. I'd wish you the best of luck, because you'll need it.

The fact that it isn't obvious is really fucking frightening, and I don't mean that in a personal way toward anyone, the god damned system scares the crap out of me.Ian wrote:U serious?Drewish wrote:Hahahaha. Re: Save us, Wealth-Creator Man!
Are you sure? It seems to me that the game was rigged to ship out as much public money into private bank accounts as possible while at the same time asking for more public money to ship into those same bank accounts. Thus what appears as a "failure of capitalism" is actually a success of plutocracy in making government increasingly irrelevant and people increasingly reliant on their industries turning a profit, including shareholders who have found a lot of their potential profit making shares now almost worthless. Seems like a long con to me. Those who hold the currency define how it is spent.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Non-sequitur.Audley Strange wrote:And yet someone has all the money which means someone has vast influence.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Why are you uncertain? I don't think it's more complicated than simple greed.

Ah well, obviously I think otherwise. Though I'd say greed is an important factor.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:I don't think it's more complicated than simple greed.

The rich only cooperate until they can screw each other. There will never be a plutocracy unless human nature changes tremendously.

I'm sorry, I don't think you understand the question. The question is:Ian wrote:http://www.upworthy.com/trickle-down-th ... g=2&c=upw1Drewish wrote:I'm still waiting for a decent answer to my question. The one's given are crap.
How would rich people giving money to poor people help them become richer by having more customers?
If you believe I am mischaracterizing the question (ie statement that I asked to be explained) then I refer you to the last page.

How would rich people become richer through increased sales from money that was taken from them in the first place?
