Such a quote is simplistic, political nonsense. Of course, they'll keep blaming someone else as long as they can get away with it. Why not? It deflects from themselves.
Which helps to explain why the Republicans have done nothing at all except to blame Obama for everything!

It works okay for me. The previous administration deserves reams of blame for a lot of things, anytime there's a need for some context in a discussion about the current state of affairs. Context.

The policy whenever you walk into a store is "you break it, you bought it." With Republicans today, their attitude towards the last fours years is "You bought it, so it's you who broke it." But Zilla and I will be here as long as this forum's around to shame you for voting for Bush, twice. Biggest catastrophe of a President since Buchanan.

He's the President. Isn't he accountable for his job? You don't hesitate blaming Bush for what happened when he was President, do you? I notice Gawdzilla even thinks we don't have a Congress (at least not one with Democrats in it) -- it's ALL Bush's fault.

Yes, the previous administration does deserve blame, as do the previous Congresses. Yes, context. And, part of that context includes who the current President is, in addition to who the past one was. Right?

I never said who I voted for in those two elections.

Let guess what you think happened. Obama had the means to bring the economy roaring back after that Republican debacle screwed it into the ground, but didn't, because, obviously, he thinks having not performed that miracle is the best way he can imagine to win a second term.

I couldn't agree more. The thing is, I don't think there's much of anything I feel bad about with respect to the Obama administration. A very, very stark contrast from Dubya.

Perhaps I ought to bring the thread into positive territory for a bit...

No, just take steps to foster business and industry, reduce costly red-tape and regulations, eliminate costly ethanol subsidies, foster our heavy industrial mining and fuel production capabilities, build nuclear reactors, continue the Constellation Moon and Moon Base program using some of the wasted stimulus money, announce and begin planning a manned mission to Mars using some of the wasted stimulus, provide incentives for increased manufacturing in the United State, allow General Motors to go through bankruptcy reorganization like it should have, not pass the costly and burdensome Obamacare but modify health insurance and health care industry regulations to increase market efficiencies, start restructuring medicare to keep it solvent, and a variety of other things. I'd not expect him to bring the economy roaring back -- but, he did promise to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. He didn't do that. Had he cut the deficit by 1/4, rather than the half he promised, I would be applauding him.

He has different priorities which don't have anything to do with an economy growing at 4 or 5 percent and which have nothing much to do with unemployment going from 8.3% to 4%. He's looking at a "bigger picture." The unemployed can be cared for via safety nets. He believes an economy growing at 4 or 5%, with increased manufacturing base, and low unemployment and low fuel/energy costs is unsustainable.
