A no holds barred cage match is the only way to settle this...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!

TV SHOW ONLY.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

What about the comic strip?
The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.
Listen. No one listens. Meow.

I think I'm a Munster. But I'd definitely marry into the Addams Family.

The Addams Family vs. The Munsters is like Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris: You only think the latter can win if you've never seen the former.

Re: The Munsters vs The Addams Family
I encountered both The Addams Family and The Munsters when they were re-broadcast by rival Australian TV networks in the late 1960s and early 70s. It didn't take me long to stop watching the latter. To me they were a pallid, tepid and lame parody of the soporific, conformist 50s and early 60s, while the former were bubbly, stylish and a slightly more edgy satire of the same period. The Munsters seemed depressingly under the yoke of the environment they parodied, while the Addams family were jubilantly independent from, and above it.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I agree with everything you've said here. I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Adams Family by a country mile. The Munsters were as subtle as a kick in the nuts.
Always felt sorry for erstwhile mega-famous child actor Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester.
As for The Munsters, I did always like Fred Gwynne
