I enjoyed watching the Taekwondo last night, another Gold for Blighty. I'll never watch or care about Taekwondo again, until the next Olympics though. I'm pleased to see Britain getting more than 3 times as many golds as France, obviously but I'm equally thrilled to see Bolt retain his 100m and 200m titles and the 800m record broken.

It's easy to sneer if you don't like sport but these athletes have worked like dogs to get where they are and good luck to 'em.

I agree but did you know Yorkshire has won 12 medals.

I know! And that Irish boxer lady's dad is from Leeds, so that's technically 0.5 of a gold

So we don't really need a medals table at all. One national anthem to be played. One set of flags. Suddenly, everything is a lot easier.

Selecting just the best two or three competitors in each event is going to be a problem though. And there'll be no-one to play in any of the team events.

I have noticed that I am feeling a little more patriotic this Olympics than I ever have before. I have never cared about which country is winning or anything but this year I feel a little smug when I see the Americans winning. Maybe it's because I'm living in a different country and it gives me some sort of connection to the states.

Yeah I can understand that too. The more people I speak to about this, the more I realise I'm actually quite extreme in how unnationalist I am.

Being unnationalist and unpatriotic seems to come with its own distinct brand of smug, so don't sell yourself short.

Australia are kicking arse at the sailing with our 7th gold medal won in it today.

Congrats to Brittany Broden who won a silver medal in the diving the chinese dominate this sport but we seem to snag a medal in the last few games.

I'd like to see tracking as an Olympic sport. The old ones are the best.
And forget the javelin. I'd rather see spears thrown at a moving target, with archery type scoring.

It would have a lot more interest and be more relevant than synchronised swimming, or those ludicrous dancing horses.

After all, we probably wouldn't be here if our ancestors hadn't been good at it.
