I'm not responsible for Bush being elected, so what do I have to be ashamed about? I didn't support him, either (well, I thought he should win over Kerry, that much is true, but in 2000 when it was Bush v Gore, I was o.k. with Gore winning, had he won). I'm not as intensely partisan as you and some others around here. Mainly, that is probably because I have views for and against much of both major parties' platforms, and I have no party designation. I criticize the party in power when they do wrong, and I support them when they do right. That's a difference here -- you root for a team. I support and oppose issues. That's why you and some others get so upset at any thread that examines or especially criticizes the Democrats. You're emotionally invested in them being right on all things, that you can't see them doing wrong.

I don't agree with you that Obama is doing a good job on the economy, and I oppose his economic measures (while supporting his (finally) coming around on gay marriage, and his good record on foreign policy and waging of the war on terrorism, etc.), you have to vilify and namecall.

It's typical of the capital L Liberals, actually. They do things like this -- support Whole Foods for years and years, lauding its commitment to organic foods and all that, until the owner comes out and espouses libertarian views, and then he and the the whole place is vilified and scorned. So many Liberals treated Hitchens the same way -- he started as the love child of the Left and then when he took his positions on Iraq and the war on terrorism and Islam, he became an idiot, drunk, boob who sold out.
