....we need another Stimulus package so it doesn't rise above 8%....

Obama and Pelosi think the Tea Party = terrorists? You don't say!
(BTW - Obama never said anything about fixing the economy in one term. I invite you to read a transcript of his victory speech.)

Libertarian Troll BingoIn honour of our libertarian friends, their commendable determination in the face of facts and basic economic theory, and their triumphant individualism, we’ve created:
Atheists have always argued that this world is all that we have, and that our duty is to one another to make the very most and best of it. ~Christopher Hitchens~

I have serious doubts about many, many politicians. My view is that vitally important jobs should be given to the most competent people.
How about making entry into government limited to those with two doctorates? One in science or engineering, to make sure only rational thinkers can enter?

The electorate gets the politicians they deserve. If you insist on only high quality politicians, you must first start with only high quality voters.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Because a guy with two doctorates is going to be an ivory tower academic, not likely to be fit for governing anything, maybe not even a lab or college department, let alone a nation or part thereof.Blind groper wrote:I have serious doubts about many, many politicians. Plus, a guy like this would not be likely to be equipped to deal with the temptations of power, and would likely be corrupted extra fast if he was honest on being brought to power in the first place.

Re: Political posterizing.
I have known many people with doctorates, and while a few are ivory tower academics, most were not. Many, for example, were in industry, being extremely productive.
