Why is it funny? I don't go to places where they don't allow me to carry my Glock. That includes a lot of movie theaters, restaurants, shopping malls and other private property where even if I disagree with the property owner I also accept their right to place conditions on entry.

I'm sorry but that just seems ridiculous. Who are you.. James Bond, Jason Bourne? Why on earth would you need a gun in day-to-day life? I've walked around cities on my own at night.. London, Tokyo, New York, Chicago (to name but a few)... I've never felt in any way that I need a gun for any reason. Are you telling me you'd take a gun to a picnic in the park?

I prefer to live not expecting to be raped and murdered by every person I see. If it does happen I doubt a gun would do much anyway but I'd rather not have to carry such a thing .. I'm not so much of a pessimist

Especially when that person is wearing a riot helmet and bullet proof vest in a darkened theatre full of smoke and the person trying to take him out has only done a few courses in weapons and shooting and has never shot a person before. It amazes me how people think it is so easy.

You don't have to kill the guy, or even hit him, to save lives. You just need to get him to keep his head down long enough for a few more people to escape.

We have to wear seatbelts, the only state that doesn't require their use (adults only) is New Hampshire. Motorcycle helmets are an issue. Only 19 states require helmets for all riders, and 28 require helmets for some riders (usually minors).

The biggest problem, IMO, is letting 16 year olds drive and not requiring license re-certification tests for crumblies (in most states). You're just not mature enough, IMO, to drive a car at 16, though if you'd told me that when I was 15 I'd have told you to fuck off. I'm older and presumably wiser now. Here in Florida the vast majority of accidents are caused by 1) young drivers and 2) ancient crumblies.

There are still a lot of states that allow texting while driving (how fucking stupid is that?) and other mobile phone use.

I wonder if mozg has been to many of those places, since he/she can't take their Glock with them. If they can't trust Americans enough that they have to walk around life packing a Glock, why would they trust foreigners?

I consider this shooting some form of terrorism - a personal type, driven by insanity perhaps, but this person had to have something motivating them to kill a bunch of strangers in a movies theater. What it was, we don't know yet.
