There's something not quite right about this story.
A friend of mine used to keep Piranhas in a tank, and they didn't attack like these are supposed to have done. He used to put prey fish in with them, and they wouldn't attack them either. It was a bit sadistic, but he used to injure the prey fish, and only then would the piranhas attack them.
And I'm sure I've seen documentary video of people swimming with piranhas, to dispel the myth that they attacked everything that moved.

What makes piranhas dangerous is the yearly Amazon flooding when it recedes leaves piranhas trapped in pools of water away from the river. Away from food sources they starve, until something enters their pool of water. Then it's munchy time!
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
