One thing that I really like about this forum is how much the staff know about how to deal with these situations, that they've learned from seasoned experience being the "protesters" at the parent forums that this site budded from, as well as being on the receiving end of some misjudged moderation in quite an array of different situations.
I will try to be impersonal - though there are situations where I think specifics are necessary for context. I still try to stray from personal attacks and slurs, though.

And I for sorrow sung,

I have been registered back there for ages since I was banned, but I really have had no desire to post because I have never come across such a self-involved bunch of knob-jugglers as that.
Reminds me of how the Nazis used to hang "undesireables" in the streets and leave them hanging there.

Yep, that's one of their more abhorrent practices, to be sure. Emotional, spite driven display of power.

As I just said in a pm to lordp, I think we really are learning as we go along and all benefiting from the experience.

I've thought about this before and had the idea of a subforum set up for this kind of thing ... but staff would know who all the members are ... which obviously means staff couldn't participate other than to moderate. It would certainly be interesting, just as an experiment.

lordp, klr has formally requested that I ask you to refrain from publicly criticising him, and to direct such criticism to him via private message for discussion in future.

Okay doke. I should be able to satisfy that . Although it does have an odd feel of making one immune from public criticism, doesn't it?
Can I have any and all criticism of
me sent via PM, where I can even satisfyingly put opinions expressed straight through a virtual shredder never to be heard of again?
That's not a serious request. Harangue me all you want.

Include me among those who'll accept public criticism (not personal abuse or harrassment - though I'm reasonably thick-skinned I'm not a rhino - but
criticism) and try to glean and consider any constructive aspect of it.

In my experience, I can take the abuse-laden posts quite well. This might have something to do with the fact that, hitherto, they've been quite vacuous underneath the invective. It pisses me off at the time, but it doesn't tend to hurt me much.

I just want to make it clear that I am only passing on klr's request as he felt unable to do so himself. This is not an endorsement of klr's request, as the staff do not feel lordp has breached any forum guidelines and she is not required to self censor in this instance. Any decision to do so is hers alone.

Oh fucking hell, I had a post binned for correcting the
grating grammatical error in this post:

It would of been good to have a poll on this thread!
Topsy, Topsy, Topsy - oh thou art so fickle, and so utterly... I don't even have the word for it.

Sigh...
I don't want to engage her in discourse. I'll just leave it. Time for another mini-recession in my posting habits there.

Thus I stand by my asessment of her bitchery. I did appreciate that she told me I had been banned for having an SP. Probably just wanted me to stop bothering trying again.
BTW, LP, great pic!
