Bush. Dumber than a bush.
People can make up catchy rhetoric all day. Means less than the hair on my scrotum. Look at the stats, the data and ignore the hype. Republicans want to make more poor people so they can be elite, special, unique, precious snowflakes in the eyes of gawd. If you don't have $$, you deserve to go to hell. That's the Republican platform boiled down.
The Republican platform is built on Calvinism. Look it up.

Dude... you just said "look at the stats and ignore the hype" and then in the next sentence you declare "Republicans WANT to make more poor people so they can be elite..." And, then "if you don't have SS, you deserve to go to hell" is the Republican platform. Perhaps you ought to take your own advice.FBM wrote:Bush. Obama supporters -- no sense of humor.
But, I'll bite -- which ones? The joke about his Nobel Peace Prize, given in advance of all the great things he was expected to do? Or, the joke about the debt limit, wherein when it was raised in 2006 it was "a failure of leadership" but when it's done under his presidency, it's the responsible thing to do....lol
Or, we can't call him "dumb" because what? That's reserved only for ever Republican there ever was, except Lincoln and Nixon?

CES - Harsh as some of ours are, I think there's some good nuggets to a lot of them. But "Obama=dumb"? Come on, nobody here is going to think that's even clever, let alone funny. You can do better.

By all means, post some stats to the contrary and I will gladly rebut in kind.Coito ergo sum wrote:Dude... you just said "look at the stats and ignore the hype" and then in the next sentence you declare "Republicans WANT to make more poor people so they can be elite..." That's my issue as well, they're not following the rule "Just a shade off center, that's where the funny is". The ones you've posted are just schoolyard level, C.E.S. Republicans have no sense of humor.Ian wrote:CES - Harsh as some of ours are, I think there's some good nuggets to a lot of them. But "Obama=dumb"? Re: Political posterizing.
I agree. But, I included them purposefully -- the constant mantra of every Republican candidate being "dumb" and an "idiot" is never ending. Including similar jokes about Obama illustrates that point. People are never shy about labeling a Republican as dumb (except Nixon, who was an evil genius, of course).Ian wrote:CES - Harsh as some of ours are, I think there's some good nuggets to a lot of them. The retort will, inevitably, be "but, they ARE dumb!" Which, of course, makes the point....

Re: Political posterizing.
First, VPs are axiomatically dumb. Second, name a president of either party as stupid at Dubya?

Really?Coito ergo sum wrote:Obama supporters -- no sense of humor.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:So many epic fails. Well done, C.E.S.
Making fun of him getting a peace prize? Calling him dumber than Bush? "Dreams, empty your pockets"?
Thing is, that's pretty much all you got when it comes to criticizing Obama in what you posted CES. Humor. Little of substance. So, thanks the for laugh.

I don't see any of you guys laughing at our jokes - must be some truth to our witty sarcasm then, eh?

I think you miss the fact that the same goes for much of what you've posted.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:That's my issue as well, they're not following the rule "Just a shade off center, that's where the funny is". I haven't ONLY posted "Obama is dumber than Bush" stuff. But, of course, because I posted that, you pretend that none of it is a shade off center. Like the Nobel Prize thing, and the thing about the debt limit, as well as some of the other cartoons.
Then you ignore the stuff that is just plain "schoolyard" nonsense like the constant "[insert name of any Republican except Nixon and Lincoln] is stupid" refrain, and dumb stuff like the just plain false cartoon about how Republicans supposedly voted against social security, Medicare and the Civil Rights Act.
I find it hilarious, that the only time accuracy is a concern is in the jokes about Obama, the only time schoolyard "he's stupid" jokes is a concern is when the joke is about Obama, and the only time we need to be intelligent about the humor is when the subject is Obama. Look back at the jokes about Republicans that dominated the thread initially. Other than the fact that your guy's ox is not being gored, what, exactly, is better about them?
