Social Security -- bipartisan -- voted through the house 372 to 33. 281 Democrats voted yes, 81 Republicans voted yes. There were 15 Democrats and 15 Republicans who voted no. Civil Rights -- this is fucking laughable --- the only reason the Civil Rights Acts passed was because of Republicans. Lincoln was Republican, and it was because of Republicans that we had the Civil Rights Act of 1864, and the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution. In 1964, the Civil Rights Act was overwhelmingly supported by Republicans. The House vote was 138 Republicans Yea, and 34 Nay. That's 80% for and 20% against. The Democrats were 152 to 96, which is only like a 60% for to 40% against split. The Republicans were more in favor of it than the Democrats.
