I agree - what made me chuckle about this article was that I remember deploying exactly the same statistical argument against some of the RDFs more pro terror-legislation posters back in 2009. It's funny to see one of my own arguments making the front page of the Telegraph.
Just boot the muzzies out and call it square.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

You should use a Cheesy Stick(tm). 150% more effective in disciplining miscreants, and also works on dogs that shit in patterns.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Bees are cool. Wasps are evil cunts that die a fiery, wingless, painful death if they come into my house
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Yep.
I seem to remember looking at mortality rates through terrorism in the UK and comparing the figures to those of mortality rates of people who died in police custardy and (if I got my maths right, which I think I did) found that a person in this country is 3 times more likey to die after coming into contact with the police - (4 times more likely if deaths during pursuit, shootings and traffic accidents are included in the stats) than they are through an act of terrorism.
Go figger. :coffee:

I have been saying for years now that the anti-terrorism actions by certain governments are a massive over-reaction. We are supposed to live in free countries, and those new laws are anti-freedom.

The biggest terrorist act - 9/11 - killed as many people in the USA as smoking does in just over 2 days.

Or to put it another way, just over one day's death toll globally from mosquitoes spreading malaria.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.
