IQ scores are continually normalised to an average of 100 over the whole population, so I'm not sure what you mean by "were".

The point I was getting at is... what do you mean by "white". White Europeans are a varied and mongrel bunch, there's a lot of genetic and ethnic variation between and within different countries/cultures.

I was born into a poor household and worked since I was 9 years old. I lent my parents a few thousand dollars at the age of 14 to help them buy their first house. I went to college on a merit based full tuition scholarship. I'm a fairly generous person and because I paid for things (with money I had earned) and because I'm a well spoken white guy, people assumed I came from money. I know how people treat those they think were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I know how entitled the poor are and how they blame everyone but themselves for their own misfortune. Yep, clearly I'm a horrible person because fuck judging people based on how they treat others or act in their own personal lives, it's about whether or not you agree with their political views!

Nope. I left that forum because somebody asked me specifically to make a thread explaining my beliefs on something and no less than 4 people started attacking me personally. There's been no weaseling out of anything. I'm stating what I think plainly. When a misunderstanding occurs I clarify. It takes so little for those claiming to be "open and accepting" to show their true colors, just somebody expressing an opinion that "deeply offends" them. My goal is not to convince you, and know such a thing is impossible, but to be articulate and up front so that those who are not coming in with a preconceived notion can hear an accurate representation of my views. You would do well to express your own position rather than attempting to force through a straw man of mine. You are preaching only to the choir.

Perhaps no one who has not already made up their mind will read this, so the discussion is ultimately pointless. In that case you might try conversing without lowering yourself to such a level as to calling me a 'crybaby' and saying that I "got my ass handed to me" as it is both contrary to what you yourself would claim is acceptable in respectful discourse, and because I am avoiding such direct personal attacks. Just think on that.

This is not the case at all, though it's a valid point to make as I can see how one might think that given what has been said so far. My political views are not in fact the result of demographic breakdowns. The issue regarding my own bias against the poor was in response to someone (I believe Mia) saying that I was bias against the poor. My views are not the result of such a bias, but I do have such a bias, so it would be dishonest of me to claim that I do not. Now it could be that because I admit to such a bias that people will now refuse to believe that my views could be based on anything other than that bias, but whatever you think of me as a person, dishonesty or misrepresenting myself or my views to make them more palatable is certainly not something I'm doing.

First off I agree with much of what your saying I have my own sob story about being poor but it is irrelevant, like you I worked like fuck to get to a decent standard of living and I also think there is a culture of indolence and snobbery within the poor community, but it is not exclusive to the poor. You're not some Randian super-individual, tonnes of people pull themselves out of the gutter, this doesn't mean you're special it only means you were not comfortable in your lifestyle or aware life could be better.

I don't have contempt for the poor, I have contempt to the socially detrimental. On a local level, certainly the illiterate peasants that spawn children like people do shits, that clog up the public sector with their disastrous lives, that squander opportunities others are not given because they have the privilege of being "disadvantaged." Yeah those folk suck.

However on a social level they are impacted upon more than they impact by various other groups of socially detrimental people, like those who think we should cut the poor's access to things like education and a decent environment. It is worse to come from a background of advantage and to squander all one's opportunties and like the poor blaming the rich for all their woes the rich blame the poor for all theirs.

The problem is not poor people, though some poor people are the problem.

You know what the problem is, indolent cunts who think they are better than others, no matter what class or social strata they belong to. Stupid fuckers who think their perception of themselves is legitimate when all evidence points towards them being wrong. Greedy pricks that don't grasp you can be impoverished in other ways but financial.

In short the problem is as it has always been, arseholes. Not the poor, but arseholes that are poor. Not the rich but arseholes who are rich, not Christians, but arseholes who are christians and so on.

To use someone's economic standing alone as a judgement of their social worth is what an arsehole would do. Knock it off.
