It was a non-denominational, ecumenical, multi-faith tremor.
Sounds nice....
We can't afford to offend anyone these days, except of course the militant atheists. It was probably all their fault anyway.
"That would be an ecumenical matter..."
Errrr.... I mean, "YES!"

And no doubt being so heathen - according to Cromwellian standards.

When are the fucking Canary Islands going to let go and send that killer tsunami out?

If I remember rightly, it wasn't thought to be an earthquake, but a huge underwater landslide that caused that Sunami.
Not that it made any difference to the people who got wet.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

If you knew that, you could be worth billions to the insurance industry.
Although if it actually happened soon, the insurance industry would just go broke.

Nope, because insurance companies now insure against "named hazards", meaning "if a-m happen, you're covered", and if n-z happen, you're not.

Bit arbitrary, going on the first letter of the word.
So you get nothing for a sunami, but they would have to pay out for the apocalypse.
It's madness, that's what it is !! Pure madness !

If you don't read your policy, and you live where n-z disasters are common, you're screwed.

Couldn't happen to a nicer industry

I wouldn't agree with that. The insurance industry is still pretty competitive.
It's actually the general public who are the villains these days, with fraudulent and highly inflated claims.
And the police, who don't take it seriously enough.

That's hardly surprising, is it, as the crafty fuckers don't fill the glass?
There was probably plenty of cider and lager spilled.
Who's going to notice a bit of spilt froth.
The froth/head is indistinguishable from frog spit, anyway. Makes a visual impression,
but you hardly notice when it goes down.
As the actress said to the bishop...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
