Overcast here, this morning. Which actually is good, as I didn't wake up about 4:30, as I usually do.

You're welcome, TA. :td: I hope I'll get better at that sort of thing before Venus comes around next time...in 105 years... :hehe:

That wasn't very shaky at all, normal. It looked really good! How did you make the projector thingy?

I didn't make it. It was a telescope with an angled mirror. Some Finnish hobby astronomer had set it up, so I just used the opportunity to try and capture it on video

Grey and pissing all day, like an English summer, so not a chance of visibility. Thankfully I saw it eight years ago via pinhole camera, so I won't feel compelled to hang around for the next shot.

Transits of Venus are very rare, separated by more than a hundred years. There have been 53 transits since 2000 B.C., but only six have been witnessed since the invention of the telescope in 1608. These rare events occur in pairs, with the first transit occurring June 8, 2004. The next opportunity won't be until Dec. 10 and 11, 2117.
Tremendous. Thanks FBM. Nice pix btw.
