If all the gay people and all the women were to vote for Obama simply to make each party in the future accept gay and women's rights, Obama will win. And I'm there to help in case one of those people votes Republican.

And if the Republicans and Democrats can use the distraction issue of gay marriage (because the President has NO SAY in the matter) to get people to vote for their respective presidential candidates then future generations can continue to be screwed up the ass whether they're pro sodomy or not.

My take is that Obama went Gay because he knows the Republicans will not be able to help themselves from going all publically Fundy over the issue and therefore drag Romney away from the centre ground (on this and a squillion other social / family values issues).......being anti-Gay won't lose Romney more votes than it gains, appearing (being!) a Fundy looney will.
