Mistermack, how would you characterize "mad for it" in this context? How much do they have to be into it before they cross the line into madnes. I don't think anyone here is saying that those who insult the martial arts need to be executed for example.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Surely martial-arts people, of any group, should know that it's sticks and stones that break bones. And words can never hurt them. They claim that they have a heightened awareness of that, but don't show any sign of it.
Nor any sign of the increased ability to walk away from trouble. If a perceived slight on a chat site gets them so hot under the collar.

There is no human right for foreigners to visit the UK. It's a privilege our government may grant or refuse as they choose. This guy was refused, because his "art" is likely to appeal to unbalanced wankers.

Interesting timing. A few nights ago, a Korean friend of mine was telling my Canadian friend's fiancee some things about me. He said that most expats easily get into fights when Koreans insult them (which happens often enough when they're drunk). But, my friend said, even though I speak Korean well enough to understand the insults and have a 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido, I just ignore the insults and show no sign of being affected by them at all. What a wacko I must be!!
