Any government that restricts the basic rights of its citizenry, like that to ensure that they can defend themselves at need (rather than having to try to call the peelers who won't be there for many minutes while the problem may be seconds away) does deserve to be called an eponym of the poster withe the Scrooge Mc Duck avatar.

I'm not a great believer in anything calledd 'natural law' (except when it's in the context of actual science), or 'social contract', but since that's how modern states get their legal and moral foundation, I much better like to live in a place where I am deemed to have rights and anybody who denies them to me is a tyrant than in a place where the guy with the goons and guns can do whatever he wants of me and what's mine, just because he can.

they think he might be inciting more unrest in places where such haas already occurred, and maybe teach non law-abiding elements how to efficiently mug people and fight the 'forces of order'?
Or maybe the guy actually is a political activist and encourages anarchy and violence in addition to teaching violence...

If he were a jihadist imam coming to preach, you would not see the problem... basically the same attitude to what that guy may be coming to preach... Victorian attitudes are still alive and well in some circles... you have to wonder why people died in the so called 'glorious revolution', just for usurping oppressors to replace your legitimate sovereigns, if the parliament backed government is taking away the freedoms that those who deposed the Stuarts thought they were ensuring for themselves and their descendents.

Obviously, that's not modern day britain, though... and I suspect that some of those you call 'savages' were your intellectual and philosophical superiors, they sure gave a lot of excellent thought to subjects most modern people would have trouble even being articulate about, even though they were born and bred to the fruit of those old folks' thoughts.

This guy sounds like the bad guy in the original Karate Kid, its one thing to wack someone and run off its another to maximise permanent damage. Now doing so may not be illegal (even in the UK) but its not something as a country i want to see encouraged. The UK and other countries regular ban visitors who while they may not plan to do anything illegal are planning anti social activity
