Thieves grab pricey goods in Fair Oaks sex shop break-in
Two thieves made off with thousands of dollars of sex toys, leather apparel and "very, very expensive lubes" after breaking into an adult sex shop Sunday morning, according to the store's manager.
Chris Daniel estimates that the loot stolen from Teaz N Pleaz on Sunrise Boulevard in Fair Oaks is worth at least $4,000 and as much as $10,000.
Daniel said the thieves went for the store's most expensive silicone lubricants and stole hundreds of "high-end" porn videos.
"We got wiped out on the 'Wicked' videos," he said.
The thieves also took "high-end" leather corsets and the "cheap, cheap, cheapest" sex toys the store carries, Daniel said.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies arrived shortly thereafter and likely scared off the thieves, who left one trash can full of goods behind, Daniel said. "They really intended to take more."
Daniel said that the store's owners and deputies got a good look at the thieves' faces captured on surveillance video and that tipsters already are calling in.
Business at the sex shop didn't appear to suffer Monday - Daniel rang up three customers during the course of an interview, telling one customer, "That's the good stuff."
Sacramento County sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos did not have further information about the burglary.
