Tablet accessories?
Anybody using an after-market keyboard on a tablet? If so, comments solicited.

Re: Tablet accessories?
I use this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Leather-Keyboar ... _ce_text_b
Pretty good. I don't use it that much, because I generally only use the tablet for e-book use, but I've used it for forum posts on occasion.
The keys are a little on the small side, and I type pretty quickly, so I can be prone to typos more than usual.

Re: Tablet accessories?
The keys are slightly smaller than a 5p piece. It's OK, but it gives the illusion of being able to type properly. With a mobile phone, you tend to use your thumbs. If you're a 1 finger typist anyway, you'd find it OK.
Here's a picture with a standard mouse next to it for scale.

Edit: Of course, it also depends on what size tablet you have. Mine is a 7", and the size of the keyboard/case reflects that. If you have a 10", the keyboard will be comparably larger.

Re: Tablet accessories?
Ayaan just got a tablet, so I'm exploring options for when I inherit it when the newer one comes out.

Re: Tablet accessories?
Interestingly, I've just been looking at a new tablet. I've only had this one since Isaac Newton day, but now that I've got used to it I'm beginning to run into the limitations, and I want something with a larger screen. I'm looking at the Sony Tablet S, which is pretty kinky, but I also think I want something with HDMI out on it, so I'm still shopping around.

Ayaan bought the Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0 tablet. She's happy with it, but already looking at the next gen.hackenslash wrote:Interestingly, I've just been looking at a new tablet. If there is something much mo better in the same price range out around next tax refund time, I'll take a look at it. I'm not looking for anything else at this moment.Gawdzilla wrote:Ayaan bought the Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0 tablet. Re: Tablet accessories?
Actually, this thread has motivated me to look closer at what's out there, and I think I've decided on this. It will also serve as an upgrade for my mobile, as it supports phone use. Dirt cheap, as well.

Someday somebody should invent a computer that has a screen and a keyboard already connected together that folds shut. That would be cool.hackenslash wrote:

But that wouldn't be small, fiddly and underpowered enough. I much prefer this solutionamused wrote:Someday somebody should invent a computer that has a screen and a keyboard already connected together that folds shut. That would be cool.hackenslash wrote:

Re: Tablet accessories?
Update: Just ordered the above tablet. Anybody interested in a cheap 7" with keyboard case? Will be available for sale in a week or so.
It's a Tabtech M900S running Android 2.2. Cheap as chips, and you get exactly what you pay for. It isn't an I-Pad, but it's OK for e-book and minimal browsing, basic games, etc. No 3G, Bluetooth, Video outs, or anything like that.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... os_product
Will take 40 GBP with case (no stylus) +shipping.
