Have you ever written to the BBC?

Post by Rum » Fri Apr 13, 2012 5:53 pm

I wrote to the BBC's Points of View today for the first time ever! Its not something I would normally even consider, but last night they showed the last of the drama serial 'White Heat', which followed the fate of a bunch of flat mates from the mid-60s to around 2000. It was possibly the best drama I have ever seen on the TV and if you get the chance to watch it via Iplayer or similar I would recommend it highly!

I don't care that it is a bit nerdy to write to the Beeb! They get enough knocks and this was off the scale excellence wise!

I write to the PM news programme on Radio 4 probably about once a week. Sometimes they even read them out in their listeners letters and emails spot on a Friday. This week is was about Chancellor George Osborne's apparent surprise that the very rich don't pay very much tax - in fact, as a proportion of their income they generally pay the least tax of any group of citizens. I'll stop there before I get on one!

I write to the newspapers too, an my MP. I'm a right pain in the ass.

I did write to the Governors when they were going to close down 6Music - the best music station ....(Clarkson pause)... in the world. They recanted on that particular decision. I think it was my letter that clinched it.

Good stuff. People never usually write in unless to complain about something.

Stay with it. You won't believe the twist in the last episode!

..however it is worth it even without it. A great piece of what I can only call 'art'.
