24) Robocop, director's cut. Has held up very well over the years. A damn near flawless film, I should think. Peter Weller really pulls off the title role nicely, and the father from That 70s Show makes a great villain. My favorite part was when the big robot Robocop kills wiggles his toes in his death throes
I give it five out of five Stella Artois.

25) Tyrannosaur. I've been waiting for this to come out on DVD for some time. Didn't know too much about it, but I was attracted to the gorgeous artwork of the movie poster. Also that it was supposed to be grim, dark, brutal, and merciless in its, uh, grim dark brutality. The fact that some reviewers found it too disturbing to like made me all that more eager to see it.
After finally watching it, I wasn't disappointed. The two leads give very powerful performances. And it wasn't as dark as I was expecting. I thought it was actually very funny in parts. What I liked about this movie also was that everything was not explained. There were lots of pieces for the viewer to imagine himself. You didn't know everything about the characters. You knew enough to be intrigued, but the mystery made things that much more appealing.
The only thing I didn't like about the film was that, as used to U.K. accents as I am, I still couldn't understand a lot of what the characters were saying. That's not the fault of the film, however.
I give it top marks. Five out of five dead dogs.

26) Joe The King. Didn't know much about this except that amazon thought I would like it for some reason, and that it was kind of a depressing story about a juvenile delinquent who had sort of a shitty childhood. Actually, I guess amazon was right- just my sort of thing.
The film was reasonably well acted, avoided cliche, and had refreshingly real dialogue. It was indeed depressing, but not overwhelmingly so. Had a few laughs as well, and a few scenes that made me tear up (whilst not feeling like I was being overly manipulated). Can't ask for more than that I guess.

27) Melody. Sweet and funny with good acting all around. Lester and Wild make a good team again. Also some nice songs on the soundtrack from The Bee Gees from back when they didn't suck.
I give it four out of five Fagins.

28) Hope and Glory. Haven't seen this in many years. It was fun to watch it fresh after so long, though I was startled to remember so many of the lines of dialogue. I often knew what the characters were going to say before they'd even said it.
I laughed a lot, and cried a lot as well. A really fine drama that wasn't at all dry, and not the slightest bit over-sentimental. I give it five out of five googlys.

Now to see if what Gawdzilla says is true. If it is he should not like it 'cause I do.

Re: The 150 Movie Challenge - 2012 Edition
29) Empire of the Sun. Christian Bale's first role, I think, and he does a very good job, along with the always charismatic John Malkovich. The film as a whole, as with most of Spielberg's films, left me a bit cold. It's nicely done, but a little too mannered and self-conscious, as if Spielberg was trying too hard to make An Important Film This Time. Some of the scenes worked well, while others fell flat, and others seemed artificial and contrived. The tone of the film was a little uneven and I wasn't sure what I, as the viewer, was meant to make of it. It's been a very long time since I've read the novel, so I'm not sure how the film differs from JG Ballard's original story. But the Spielberg film just felt a little, I dunno, too Spielbergized for my tastes.
A decent film, don't get me wrong. Just something about it gets up my nose. Still, I give it four out of five Hershey bars.
