Re: RatSkep voluntary refugees here
In my admittedly limited experience of the place there simply seem to be multiple
threads and when people get pissed off with the back and forth and break a rule they get banned.

Yup - and mods don't always get it right as to who the perp really is....

Re: RatSkep voluntary refugees here
I've never been in any kind of trouble there (or anywhere, that I can remember) I just found it easier to dig in here, and really liked the people. There are some great people over there too, there are just so many that it's overwhelming to me most the time, so I just skim threads and don't join in discussions really.

The non-existent clique here is a mere shadow of the clique there. If you're not in it, you can do no right. So I walked away. Not suspended, not banned, just "Fuck off" and I hiked.

Re: RatSkep voluntary refugees here
I left a while back because the FUA was a fucking shambles that stifled any discussion and that much of vocal and reactionary minority who defended it against any questioning or criticism were a bunch of juvenile hypocrites who could not wait to bend their own rules on personal attacks to accommodate their biases when Josh Timenon (sp?) joined. To the extent that they defined him as a public figure, because he had a blog. What wonderful reasoning.
In the end I realised I was attempting to fight to make an FUA fit for purpose on a forum where it necessitated it, but the vocal and reactionary minority liked it the way it was, until it eventually was exploited by them against each other until the entire circle jerk was drenched with each other's virtual jism.
They should really call it DunKrug.

I think this is me too. I like less crowded places personally.Bella Fortuna wrote:Yup, this is me too.rachelbean wrote:I've never been in any kind of trouble there (or anywhere, that I can remember) I just found it easier to dig in here, and really liked the people. What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I feel I'm with equals here. There's a party spirit as well which is important given the time on the clock.

But think! When the population hits 10,000,000,000 you might find a woman that thinks you're cute.Crumple wrote:I'm trying to count blessings but there is no denying the facts. The population already peaked. It will plateau for another couple of years before the human die-off begins in earnest.Gawdzilla wrote:Read what I said.
