How rude...she should have asked the baby first, it was it's placenta.

Maybe it would be tastier if she made a placenta Haagis out of it or something?

Just learnt a new word - placentophagia

It was in fact made of baby cells, so that part is true.

I don't know what is more disgusting, placenta eating or past tenses with an "nt" like "learnt." Gaaaaaahhh!!!

I know it's probably technically acceptable, but in my opinion it should be "learned." "Learnt" just bugs the crap out of me. :lay:

The "cleansing herbs" do sound pretty questionable.

Like all unfamiliar foods, it's scary until you know how to cook it - luckily there are recipies:

It's a shared organ, actually. Seems to be the only form of cannibalism that's acceptable in Western culture.

I know, acquaintance-like, people who've eaten theirs. The theory is that is gives you all this necessary protein and iron and helps your uterus shrink back up and helps fight post-partum depression and makes your hair all shiny and shit. And women in primitive cultures (or whatever the pc term for that is) eat theirs, and some animals, too...

Seems to me one of the perks of living in Western society is that you can just buy a steak instead.

I didn't do either. I just took iron pills and tried to get my rest.
