Swedish Sexsomniac Prosecuted for Rape

Post by Coito ergo sum » Fri Mar 23, 2012 7:55 pm

A 27-year-old man from northern Sweden charged with raping a sleeping woman has defended himself by claiming he too was asleep at the time

I have a number of questions about this incident....like, how tired do you have to be to not wake up before intercourse begins?

And, would a sleeping woman be lubricated enough for sex while she is asleep? :ask:

...
The 27-year-old explained that he suffers from somnambulism and sexsomnia, an affliction whereby sufferers perform sexual acts while still asleep.

According to the man, the incident wasn't the first time he had woken up to find he'd had sex without knowing it.

He said that it happened on occasion that his former girlfriend would tell him when he woke up in the morning that he had had intercourse with her in his sleep.

While sexsomnia is rare, it is an accepted medical condition.

"This is very well-accepted as a diagnosis within the field of sleep medicine," neurologist Cramer Bornemann of the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center in Minneapolis told medical advice website WebbMD.
...
Well, since he knew beforehand he had the condition, wasn't it rather foolish of him to get into that situation in the first place?

I did wonder about that situation also...like....was the lady sleeping next to him? Did he inform her previously that he may sleep-fuck her at any time? :{D

Well, according to the article, the woman "passed out", so it would surely be a question of him deciding to lie next to her. Even if she passed out in such a way as to lie down right next to him (yea, right!), he still couldn't use that as an excuse. Maybe they were equally sozzled: Still no excuse IMHO.

Also, I think if he'd given her notice earlier, he'd have proclaimed that by now.

I am confused about why they were sleeping in the same room together. I mean, they may well have been "just friends" or whatever, but if she didn't know him well, I would think that "passing out" in the same room with him would not be the first thing she'd want to do. Most women tend not to want to do that.

I sort of assumed that they were acquainted with each other, but I may be assuming too much there.

It's baffling to me. How plowed do you have to be to not notice a guy climbing on top of you, spreading your legs, and penetrating you? She Who Must Be Obeyed wakes right up when "Little Coito" pokes her in the backside.... :-)
