But it was fair. The taxpayers fairly lost $11M, and the 2 persons who got clothes were not discriminated against. Nice job.
Nice - Greece should hire some people from your accounting office...Coito ergo sum wrote:The nice part is that the $11,000,000 is added, dollar for dollar, by the government accounting office, to the number of GDP. So, it all counts as productive output.
2 suits, $5.5 million each. Production quota met!
Despite receiving more than $885 million in federal economic stimulus funds since 2009, the D.C. government — whose residents face one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation — cannot say how many jobs it actually created for those who live in the District.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/ ... n-details/Concerns are piling up that www.recovery.gov, the Obama administration's online clearinghouse for stimulus- spending information, isn't producing the kind of transparency it promised.
Obama said the Web site would provide a way for taxpayers to track and monitor how the $700 billion in stimulus money was being spent, yet more than two months after some of the funds were released, the Web site offers little detail on where the money is going.
Rather, the site mainly provides links to other government agencies and features press releases.
GAO: Obama administration website on stimulus spending fails on transparency
Everything is nice and simple in Coito World.Coito ergo sum wrote:That's the big crock of shit about government stimulus, anyway. Academic economists love government stimulus because it is easy to do the math. $1,000,000,000 in stimulus....just at $1,000,000,000 to the GDP. There! No GDP is rising! Or, the drop in GDP has slowed! Isn't government stimulus wonderful?
That is what is done with stimulus money, though. It's added dollar-for-dollar to GDP. That's part of why the numbers are such bullshit.Ian wrote:Everything is nice and simple in Coito World.Coito ergo sum wrote:That's the big crock of shit about government stimulus, anyway. Reminds me of Ross Perot's infomercials, as he explained his economic ideas to the country with some charts and graphs, saying "See? It's just that simple!" over and over.
And CES - Please stop using the Washington Times as a source of information. They're about as objective and reliable as Fox News. There's plenty of nonpartisan information to be found elsewhere. If the source you're reading has a clear agenda to push before they've written a word on a story, it should be ignored.
11 million? drop in a bucket when your government has wasted at least $3.7 trillion on meaningless wars and occupations. Talk about a "stimulus plan" if you want to get pissed at wasted cash maybe attack something real.Coito ergo sum wrote:Audit: Part of $11M grant for Detroit job seekers only aided 2.

thats it eh? If you're attacked you only have two options, bomb, destroy, and occupy a country or two for a decade or do nothing.Coito ergo sum wrote:Of course, when one is attacked, one is attacked, so in those cases, one's choice is to either sit there and take it or respond.
me defend the US government? whaaa? Of course I'm not, if you could read, you would see I am just saying that, if your whinging about wasted money look towards the real waste.Coito ergo sum wrote:Are you defending the stimulus because the government wasted other money? Great argument.
Coito said "sit there and take it" or "respond". Under "respond" comes quite a few sub-options, not only what you decided to fill in for him.sandinista wrote:thats it eh?
