It would also help if secondary schools had teachers who could tell a quadratic equation from a stuffed giraffe...
A few years back I heard of a concept called "creative spelling" which had been introduced into a local school. Upon hearing it described, it became clear that the reality involved not teaching proper spelling.

SAT Math Scores

Black/African 428
Mexican 451
White 549

So it should be no surprise that as the Hispanic population rose, test scores fell as Hispanics drag them down. It's a shame the BBC didn't release ethnic data on the scores so we could point a finger at the real issue.
You horse's ass.

Asian, Asian American, or Pacific Islander 568

You gwailos are dragging Asians down. Maybe we should stop allowing white people into our countries?
First off, a 3.35% difference is far less significant than an 18% or 22.1% difference.

Secondly, the reaction should be, what can be done to make white students better at math. That's the same way the issue of low black and Mexican scores should be treated.

I suspect the Pacific Islanders even dragged the average down a few points :hehe:

As these are US stats, Asian only refers to Orientals like Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. No Pakis :{D
I've always hated that term "Asian." It's fucking bullshit, and it's overtly racist/ethnocentric, presuming that "Asian" means what "oriental" used to me, when it was o.k. to say "oriental" like we can still say "occidental."

Turks are Asian, some Russians are Asian. Indians are Asian. Afghans and Iranians are Asians. Israelis are Asian.

It's even bled over into the restaurant business. Used to be that only people couldn't be called "oriental." Now, we're getting inundated with "Asian" restaurants. FFS - really? Asian restaurant now means Japanese, Chinese and Thai available at the same restaurant. Is Indian food "Asian" food? No, that's Indian food, not Asian.

Stop fucking with the language, you National Public Radio muthahfuggahs! :lay:

Wait a minute... Are you taking that post seriously? I was mocking Tyrannical's racist BS, dude. Using Tyrannical's logic against Tyrannical.

For the record, in case anyone else thinks I was being serious, no, I am not actually an oriental supremacist, nor do I actually wish to deport white people. Lol...........

No, I saw what you were doing there. But, I think the problem arises when standards are lowered in the name of equality.
