Important science question that has me stumped.
This is a question that's always bothered me.
How come Superman has amazing superhuman powers, and yet he's no more intelligent than the rest of us?
Why hasn't he got super-human intelligence?

Depends who's writing him. Often he has.

Re: Important science question that has me stumped.
It is relative. Superman only seems to have superhuman powers because he can do things humans can't do by virtue of having a body that evolved on a planet with greater gravity. He is normal for his home planet. Gravity does not cause a selection for intelligence.

Because he did not go to school on Krypton. He was raised by two ignorant Kansas Creationist farmers and attended the Smallville public school system.mistermack wrote:This is a question that's always bothered me.

Re: Important science question that has me stumped.
Because everything he does has to be written by human writers, who are by definition not superhuman. Writing for a character whose intelligence greatly exceeds your own is a bit of a problem; such an individual would by definition have to be able to think of things that you can't think of to write that the character thought of them.

What about Star Trek? It sounds nearly intelligent, Picard generation.
