It is an exceptional film, I loved every minute of it. The dream sequence especially.

That scene was so, so clever.

I just got through watching the film. Perfect isn't a word I use about many films but this is an exception. 11/10!

I have to go all the way to the city to see this :sulk:

And it has a PG rating (!?). This better not be a family film. You know I can just go 15 mins away and watch Ghost Rider instead? :sulk:

Why would you actively put yourself through Ghost Rider, it's fucking rubbish.

Yes. But it's my kind of rubbish.
It's also easier than actively putting myself through going to Dublin. I actually purchased runners on the internet for the first time ever yesterday to avoid going to Dublin after searching local malls brought no results. Fucking runners they had looked like space gondolas. Kids today :sulk:

I don't think Ghost Rider is anyone's kind of rubbish. It's meant to be even worse than the first one, which didn't even have the rubbishy novelty of being so rubbish it's good.

The artist might not be your kind of film though, it is a silent movie after all, a lot of people complained about that as if they didn't know what they were going in for.

I don't mind it being silent. It might get a replay in Swords after winning Best Picture. I'm surprised it isn't on this week. It's not that small a cinema. They show the same foreign, Bollywood, obscure art films and 3-D concerts they do in Cineworld in Dublin so why not The Artist I don't know :sulk:

I love silent films, and have wanted to see this.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Saw Nosferatu at the Bridgewater Hall, with full orchestra, years ago. It was ace.

No it's not. Not really. In fact, the use of sound is one of the best things about it! :tea:

You mean there's no guy in the front playing a honky-tonk piano in time with the film?

No. Sound is however very cleverly used. And it takes you by surprise.

It's a delightful film and approximately 5 squilion times better than effing Ghostrider!

If I want to see a silent movie I'll just wait a few more years and they'll all be silent.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
