Here's Natalie, thankfully recovered from her dancer's build (and her pregnancy!) She looks young and shiny in her strapless red ball gown.

Presenting for best actor--

She's addressing each actor directly. Not sure if I like that approach.

She's talking about The Artist and she almost said how it ended. Shut up, Natalie! Some of us haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Gary Oldman is up for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I like saying that title. I also like how G.O. is so damn hard to track from one role to the next.

Brad Pitt is up, too. I hope he doesn't win. I think he's probably a pretentious douche.

Hey! Jean DuJardin won! Score Three for Rum!

Jean DuJardin looks like the ultimate stereotypical Frenchman. Except he's a little too tall, and he should have a skinny moustache (I think he does, in the movie.)

Colin Firth is presenting for Best Actress.

Glenn Close has a good face for playing a man.

Viola Davis. I think she will win.

Rooney Mara is a lovely Art Deco space alien. I have a feeling, based on a Vogue article I read once, that this movie is pretentious twaddle.

Meryl and Colin are flirty flirty. She might win. I'd be okay with that. She's always good.

Oh, and Michelle Williams as Marilyn. Sorta pisses me off, honestly. She doesn't seem right for the role.

Standing Ovation for Meryl!

Her speech is relaxed and funny. You might think she's done this before.

She loves her husband. Awwww.

And she loves her hair and makeup person! (Who won earlier, incidentally!) Awwwwwww! As someone who's worked in a related field, it's nice to know how sincerely she values the people who make her look good.

She thanks her friends, in and out of the business---

AND-- she's out.

Nice. Well done Meryl.

I've heard that about Cassavetes. Shame I haven't seen it to judge for myself.

I'm working on J to help get us set up for Netflix and such, so we can get back into seeing movies again (tough when we can't get out much these days ;) )

Our TV is very old, and not internet-able. So...

OH! best picture is up!

French James Franco is up to talk again-- told his kids in France to go to bed. Thanks Billy Wilder three times, and out.

And Billy Crystal waves us a fond goodnight.

Well done, Billy!

And we're done!!!!

Happy Oscar Night, everyone! It was fun blogging with you all!
