Undefeated wins for documentary. The film is about football somehow. The filmmakers look like they'd be into football more than making documentaries.

I always feel bad when groups win-- no one but the first guy gets a chance to thank anyone.

Chris Rock. I actually liked him as a presenter for the whole shebang, a few years back.

He's presenting for animated films. Rango wins!

(Chris Rock's hair is longer, soft Fro. I like it. It looks tough.)

Actually, Chris Rock just did his own documentary, about black women and their hair. It looks good. But I wonder if that influenced him to change his look.

What do you think of a redhead in red?

I'm not fond.

She's pretty enough to pull it off.

The redhead in question is Emma Stone. Her dress is actually pretty fab-- charmeuse? but lots of body, big ridiculous bow at the side of the neck. Her hair is sleek, all the styling is just right.

Hugo! For visual effects. That's 5 I think, Homer. And the Martin Scorsese love-fest continues.

Jonah Hill actually is pretty talented. But Nick Nolte is crazy talented. And I mean that literally, and with all due respect.

Ahhhh Ewan. I love you. I hope Christopher Plummer wins.

At 82, he's the oldest actor to win best supporting actor.

How can you feel bad losing to him?

Aw, he thanked his daughter Honeybunny. Everybody cool! This is an awards ceremony!

I don't think Billy's "What everybody's thinking?" bit was all that successful.

And now that Academy schmo is droning on.

But hey, Meryl Streep is glowing.

Penelope Cruz is wearing a lovely prom gown. It really is lovely. And it really does look like a prom gown.

The Artist wins for Best Original Score.

So score one for Rum! I'm pretty sure he called that one.

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifanakis (?) will present, crashing cymbals and wearing all-white tails.

Best Original Songs:
"Man or Muppet"
"Real in Rio"

Don't they usually perform these? Too much interpretive dance to leave time for that, I guess.

Muppets wins. Meh.

If I even win an Oscar, and I don't know why I would, I'd pay to take out a big ad in the papers/ on the onlines the next day for the giant list of thankees, so that I'd have time to deliver an interesting speech in person.

The Oscars have cigarette girls. Well, they're passing out snacks, not the devil tobaccy. But short flouncy skirts on servile young women never go out of style.
