Liveblogging the Oscars?
Not really-- just watching the pre-show, with my beloved Tim Gunn.
Honestly, I think Tina Fey is the belle of the ball so far. I love Carolina Herrera, and Tina looks stunning in her deep blue dress.
Michelle Williams is odds-on favorite for best dressed, so far. She's pretty. Not my favorite. But her dress is interesting. A hot coral, form-fitting but feminine.
Nick Nolte looks like Santa. Or Kenny Rogers, back when Kenny Rogers looked like Kenny Rogers.
Rooney Mara also looked great. She rocks the Louise Brooks hairstyle, though it is almost clownishly severe.
Oh, and the chick from Bridesmaids (don't know her name) looked lovely-- though I'd be surprised if someone plus-size makes the best-dressed list.

I didn't know it was on, and haven't seen any of the films...
Boy, have times changed... time was I would have seen about 85% of them and knew who all the actors were and rather enjoyed watching it as a guilty pleasure. The people-who-died montage would bring a tear to the eye...

I haven't seen them either! But I still like to watch. I judge the actors based on past work, and whether or not they seem like a douche in interviews.Bella Fortuna wrote:I didn't know it was on, and haven't seen any of the films...

Gwyneth is wearing a retarded cape with pointy shoulders. This pleases me.

I think Glenn Close was born to be old. She looks great. Even if I'm not sure about her tuxedo jacket. A nod to her cross-dressing role?

George Clooney is surprisingly short. But so handsome. Chick with him makes gold lame look good. Surprisingly.

Brad Pitt, on the other hand, looks like one of the Hanson boys after a two-month bender.

Nina Garcia thinks Gwyneth looks great. Fashion types have their favorites, who can do no wrong, I guess.
Nina is looking leathery.

Jlo is a weird mix of lovely/tasteful and hoochie. As ever. But she's making hoochie look good.

We're a good three hours away from knowing. I wonder if I can keep this up that long?Animavore wrote:Who won?
