Look, this is 2012, not 1912... B&W silent films are kind of... passé

I would have gone to a show of classics at the Cinémathèque... Méliès' semminal Voyage to the Moon, some Louise Brooks... that kind of thing.

But an artsy fartsy modern thing that lasts the modern 2 hours... I don't need to dish out 10 € for a nap.

Go see it.

Edit: Was meant for Slafarty, but you too Bella. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. Its favourite for the Oscars. It is silent but it isn't old fashioned. It is made with a huge amount of wit. I challenge you not to cry too!

By God, it's a French film, isn't it? Can't believe they are showing such syphilitic rot in a British picture house.

I want to see it, but can't get out to see stuff these days-- have to wait for home version.

I am shocked and appalled that you haven't seen it - or even heard of it. :o

I haven't seen it myself, but I'm not a movie goer. Maybe I should make an exception. :shifty:

It better be.

Seriously, that movie has been here so long it's become difficult to find a theatre that still shows it
Plus I don't really like dujardin, and I've heard all the wrong voices praising that movie to the moon.

I'm sure it's utterly fantastic, but I'm not enthused.

I went and saw The Muppets instead.
