First offence, community service, weekend curfew for a year and a moderate fine. Punishment seems reasonable to me. Obviously if it had a been a Tory execution would have been order

My first reaction was that it's good to see that MPs can blow up, just like the rest of us.

But it must be degrading to get punched by someone, and to have to take it without hitting them back. It's a shitty choice, do the right thing, and feel like a coward, or retaliate, and be regarded as no better than he is.

So he deserves all he gets. Good riddance.
