False attribution would only be libel if it was defamatory. Otherwise, it's just a douche move, at most, or more likely, a joke.

Pakistan? Isn't there some major ... let's call it "divergence of views" between the salafi/talibans who virtually own the place, and the Saudi wahhabites?Ian wrote:It's not out of the realm of possibility. But Saudi Arabia said that they'd buy warheads in short order after Iran goes nuclear, with their own indiginous program to follow. I don't know if anyone, even Pakistan, is going to be especially eager to sell to them.MiM wrote:Ian, the first link requires a subscription. Is there any substance behind that claim?

Yes. But there's also that "enemy of my enemy" factor. Neither of them care much for Iran.

Which is fucking funneh when you remember how much Pakistani culture is closer to Persia than to India, and how a lot of the minority languages in the North and West are cloose relatives to Persian, if not actual dialects of it (Dari, Balochi, heck, even Pashto for that matter)

The queerest thing about Pakistan is its acronymic name.
Punjab
Afghania
Kashmir
Sindh
-- stan.
It's among the top few stupidest country names on the planet, IMHO.

Khan sold the technology to whoever wanted to buy, so selling the end product isn't completely far fetched. And if Iran was to break the moratorium on nuclear tests, it wouldn't necessarily be impossible for a neighbour to follow suit, so SA could make sure that the delivered goods are ok.

. http://abcnews.go.com/International/wir ... zkqlMW0zdUNEW DELHI (A P) — Assailants targeted Israeli diplomats in India and Georgia in near-simultaneous strikes Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed on archenemy Iran, and its Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah
Historians will probably pinpoint the war between Israel and Iran as having started a few years ago...

You know, if a German neo nazi group started targeting Israeli targets, Netanyahu &co would sstill blame Iran.

Plenty of reading material on this subject every day, but here's one from Foreign Policy that (as usual) I think is pretty good:

The pessimist voice inside me usually takes a back seat. But the optimist in me is getting worn down the more I look at this and try to see the situation from Israel's POV.

What's that supposed to mean? Iran isn't doing what is alleged? Israel is just recklessly pointing the finger at an innocent Iran?Svartalf wrote:You know, if a German neo nazi group started targeting Israeli targets, Netanyahu &co would sstill blame Iran.

Re: US intelligence agencies lying about Iran?
It means that I doubt there's sufficient evidence to be sure it's really Iran for everything at the current time, plus, the israeli gummint has a thing about blaming the mullahs whether they are really guilty or not.

You think there is not sufficient evidence that Iran tried to assassinate Israeli diplomats?Svartalf wrote:It means that I doubt there's sufficient evidence to be sure it's really Iran for everything at the current time, plus, the israeli gummint has a thing about blaming the mullahs whether they are really guilty or not.
Do you have examples of the mullahs being blamed by Israel and later being found to have had no involvement?
