Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D anyone?

Its just out here. Mrs Rum is a huge SW fan and will be going if not with me then one of our friends. The original is however the crappest SW film in my view and I'm not sure about the 'forced' 3D thing at all.

Anyone seen it or planning to?

Retro-fitted 3-D is terrible. I saw The Last Airbender , I didn't realise it was retro-fitted before I went in, the "3-D" looked more like sections of 2-D layered on top of each other. This caused some real eye-straining effects at times.

The Last Airbender itself was terrible. Watching it in retro-fit made it terrible terrible.


So the answer to the OP is 'no'. But as far as Episode 1 is concerned it will always and forever be No no matter what they do to it.

Episode I is chock full of spectacular action sequences
Pod racing, darth maul light saber battle, space combat scene, the robot army war, submarine sequence..... Tons of good stuff in the movie even though it had it's weak points.

It also has one of the best nerd jokes in movie history. If you listen to the bad guy's pod racer, you will hear what a V-1 "Doodle Bug" flying bomb sounded like.

Agreed. But you are universally against 3D, whereas I like some of it, but not nearly all. "How to Train Your Dragon", for example, used 3D beautifully.

After seeing Puss 'n' Boots in 3-D I think 3-D works pretty well in computer animation compared to live action.
