Imagine the fun you could have, printing off copies of peoples faces and throwing darts at them.

I suspect the limitation in this technology will be printing things that require moving internal parts...

Not saying that it would be impossible, but it would be tricky...

Aye, Jim. There have been some printed bicycles but I think it was a case of printing the parts and then assembling them by hand.

What's a "need jaw"?
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

Which would still be grand: I know enough extreme bicycle buffs of various tastes who would just LOVE to make their own bikes totally from scratch - and think of the possibilities for starting a small business!

Also, we could resurrect the CityBike program in Helsinki and have a deal with a bicycle printer's shop in every part of the city, so that when a CityBike is found trashed (people sadly sometimes do that to common property), it could just be fed into a nearby 3D printer and renewed.

This one costs $2450

“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

They've already demonstrated the ability to print working ball-bearings...impossibly interlocked ones, at that. - Scale is the thing to overcome here, I think.
I suspect the biggest limitation will be the materials that they print with. :ask:
