http://uk.news.yahoo.com/gamer-dies-caf ... 24246.html
A Taiwanese man who died while playing video games at an internet cafe was left for hours after fellow gamers failed to notice his death.
The body of Chen Rong-yu, 23, was found slumped in a chair at a cafe in New Taipei city on Tuesday night, according to local reports.
He was rigid on a chair with his hands stretched out towards the keyboard and mouse, police said.
He had been playing League of Legends .
(cont...)
Seems he might have been sitting there for about 9 hours. Weird.
I think there's something strange but slightly amusing about people who die in 'lifelike' positions. Some years ago here in Chester a guy was found dead still sitting on his pushbike leaning against a hedge. He'd apparently croaked on his way to work and was there for perhaps an hour or so before anyone twigged that he was dead.

I reckon it's better than dying in prolonged, shrieking agony or something.
My mother's brother died similarly about 4 years ago while watching the telly.
He was still watching it when we found him - eyes open (though slightly glazed), usual expression on his face and normal seated position. Didn't look like he suffered at all.

If he was an MMO gamer, slumped and foul-smelling was probably exactly what people _expected_ of him.
<Nonchalantly minimizes the MMO on his screen>
This happened in my neck of the woods:
http://www.snopes.com/horrors/gruesome/halloween.asp wrote:On 26 October 2005, the corpse of a 42-year-old woman was left suspended in public view for hours in Frederica, Delaware, because her lifeless body was assumed to be yet another Halloween display. The unnamed woman hung herself from a tree located across a moderately busy road from some homes. Her body, suspended about 15 feet above the ground,
could easily be seen from passing vehicles.
State police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Oldham and neighbors said people noticed the body around 7:30 that morning but dismissed it as a holiday prank. Authorities arrived at the scene at 11:00 to begin the process of examining the scene and removing the body. The deceased lived about a quarter-mile from where her body was discovered.

Not a bad way to go, especially if it was a decent program...

You died watching the telly?

Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

Bad few weeks, that was.
