Four men admit London Stock Exchange bomb plot

Four men inspired by al-Qaeda have admitted planning to detonate a bomb at the London Stock Exchange.

Mohammed Chowdhury, Shah Rahman, Gurukanth Desai and Abdul Miah pleaded guilty to engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

The men, from London and Cardiff, were arrested in December 2010 and were set to stand trial at Woolwich Crown Court.

Five other men have pleaded guilty to other terrorism offences and all nine will be sentenced next week.

The men, who are all British nationals, had been inspired by the preachings of the recently-killed radical extremist Anwar Al-Awlaki.

It emerged that those who admitted planning to target the London Stock Exchange wanted to send five mail bombs to various targets during the run up to Christmas 2010 and discussed launching a "Mumbai-style" atrocity.

Heard this on the BBC news (radio) a few minutes ago - they said very clearly, and with unsubtle emphasis, "Four BRITISH men have admitted..."

Dunno - the news was quite insistent on telling us they were from East London and Stoke-on-Trent. As British as Fish and Chips.

They should find out what Mosque they attended and arrest everyone that also attends it under terrorism charges. It is clearly a terrorist training camp.
Better yet, maybe the Yanks can just bomb it.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

We need to bomb someplace in the UK. Otherwise, how will I ever find my way to a Ratz meet? Everyone knows we Merkins can't point out any country on the map unless we've been bombing it!
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Try standing in Ton Son Nhut AFB receiving area and watching a bunch of guys try to find their current location on a map of the world. The map with the big "You are here" arrow glued on it.
