US intelligence agencies lying about Iran?

Post by Coito ergo sum » Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:05 pm

U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Iran is prepared to launch terrorist attacks inside the United States in response to perceived threats from America and its allies, the U.S. spy chief said Tuesday.

Do we believe the US intelligence agencies?

I thought by now they would stop making up excuses and attack already.

No I don't believe them at all.

Surely the Obama Administration would be demanding solid evidence for these things? After all, the CIA and all the intelligence agencies work for Obama directly, and report to him.

Could be setting up the atmosphere for a false flag to justify the heavy bombardment necessary to obliterate Iranian infrastructure sufficiently to put back nuke development for a decade or more? :smoke:

When 'intelligence agencies' go public, you know it has nothing to do with any actual IA, and everything to do with the Ministry of Propaganda.

I'm not sure the CIA work for anyone apart from the CIA ,on whether Iran is aiming to hurt the US I think maybe they feel If they keep saying this or that rogue state is planning something then they will be able to claim they were right whatever happens .

The director of the CIA reports directly to the Director of National Intelligence (currently James Clapper) who reports directly to the President of the United States. They are not free agents. The President controls what they do with phone calls and memos.

Did everyone forget the recent plot to blow up the Saudi ambassador inside a DC restaurant? :ask: As someone who occasionally eats in DC restaurants, I haven't.
I sure as shit don't trust Iran, or at least the IRGC. A lot of people seem to have a tendency of assuming that since the US is so powerful and Iran so much less so, that the US is the one which cannot be trusted and must be plotting something sinister. It's a predictable bias, but it has to ignore a lot of other things.

Anyway, crazy as Iran's government may be, I'd be far more worried about Israel risking a false flag operation than them or the US. The US can't keep a deception like that under wraps; we leak information like a sieve.

I'm still surprised the gummint should take this to the public rather than ramping up security as discreetly as possible, possibly organizing special guard around the most promising security holes in hopes of seeing if any nice fish will try to come through.

I trust the Intelligence Community thoroughly. As much as my own family. Except for the CIA's Special Activities Division. Them, I don't really trust.

Real mature, Ian seeing as how your government has been murdering Iranians.
