The word "miracle" is used these days by most people in a very different way to its original, religious meaning.
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

As long as all the voices agree... :levi:

This year was pretty good for God. Capsized cruise ship, good warning! Nail in head, mm from danger. Good of him to do miracles on simple folk who appreciate Him.

No tsunamis or fukushimas this year, God! Ok?

Charge and spin alignment of atoms, IIRC.

Exactly.

Moving or spinning charges generate a magnetic field. However you want to view such an entity at a deeper level, the existence of such a field has highly predictable effects; a model that can predict effects in the observable universe with accuracy and consistency has something going for it...

A step beyond angels doing a bump and grind on the end of a pin...

Yeah, but how do they work?
You do get down to the deeper question of how like charges repel and unlike charges attract. I think at some point there's nothing left to say but 'that's the way it is.'

If you drop them they stop working. I think the little people inside get jiggled about and can no longer hold the fort because the geeks says something about there being domains in there. Must be weird to be that tiny.
