It's just a public relations thing - people are worried about how the Afghan/muslim people are going to respond, as if the Taliban weren't already doing their best to kill the infidels already. But there are some serious rumblings about getting them to peace negotiations in Qatar, which may help expedite the process of ISAF withdrawing from Afghanistan.
As for the act itself, I say big effin' deal. Youtube just wasn't available in earlier conflicts. Urinating on the corpses of dead enemy combatants? If Marine officers merely caught sight of this before the media did, the enlisted guys involved would be sentenced to cleaning out latrines for a day, at worst. It hardly constitutes a crime.

Pretty close to what I was getting at. You get a medal for killing them, but go to prison for pissing on them afterwards? I'd much rather be pissed on than killed, thank you.
